NEW! MEMBER LUNCH & LEARNS
Join our pot-luck member luncheons for a fun and educational meal! Lunch will begin at 11:30 am followed by a short talk on healthy topics!
FRIDAY, JANUARY 12—HEALTHY EATING
Bring a healthy main dish to share and learn healthy eating tips for the new year! This fun lunch will help you ring in the new year the right way, plus give you ideas for healthy dishes you can make at home. Bring a copy of your recipe to share—optional.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9—HEALTHY TREATS
Bring a covered main dish to share and learn about ways to snack on healthy treats. We’ll be sharing a special treat with all participants!
MEMBER WELLNESS CHALLENGES
BUDDY CHALLENGE January 2—February 1
Grab your BFF and head to the YMCA! Complete your workout with a buddy to be entered to win cool Y gear! Complete our “Buddy” challenges for an extra chance to win! Each time you work out with your buddy or complete a challenge, you both can enter to win! Two winners will be randomly drawn on February 1st. There is no cost to participate, but you must work out with at least one buddy to receive an entry in the drawing.
LAZY MAN TRIATHLON February 12—March 24
There’s nothing lazy about it! Complete 26.2 miles of running or walking, 12.5 miles of rowing, and bike or elliptical 112 miles in six weeks. Everyone who completes the challenge receives a t-shirt. Sign up by February 12. Adults pay $15, or $12 each when you sign up with your BFF.
Enter our Soup Cook-off contest! Submit your entry on January 31 at 10 am. Soup will be taste-tested and voted on by our members throughout the day. The winning soup chef will win an apron and medal, plus $10 in Y program bucks! Pick up the official rules at the desk.
THIRD & FOURTH GRADE YOUTH BASKETBALL
Boys and girls in grades 3-4 are taught basketball fundamentals while learning good sportsmanship and teamwork. The program lasts six weeks from January 27—March 3 with practices on one weeknight and games on Saturdays. Practices are held at local school districts. Games will be played at high school gyms. Schedules will be announced the week of January 22. Printable registration forms are available at www.clarioncountyymca.org/resources. Cost is $25 for Members and $45 for Non-members through January 10, 2017. Registrations received after January 10th will be charged an additional $5.
