The Clarion County YMCA has announced a developmental basketball program for boys and girls in first and second grade. Children from all area schools are invited to participate in the program.
Basketball fundamentals and skills are the focus of the program in a developmental and non-competitive environment. The clinic is held on Saturdays and lasts four weeks, March 23, March 30, April 5 and April 13. All practices are held at the new YMCA. Registration is available through March 22.
Printable registration forms are available at www.clarioncountyymca.org/resources.
The cost is $15.00 for YMCA members and $40.00 for non-members through March 18, 2019. Registrations received after March 18th will be charged an additional $5.00.
Parents, grandparents, and siblings are needed as clinic volunteers. The goal is to have as many volunteer “instructors” as possible. Volunteer instructors do not need to be knowledgeable. All they need to do is help the player copy the clinic director.
No one will be turned away for financial reasons. If financial assistance is needed, please print a scholarship application: http://www.clarioncountyymca.org/resources.
The Y is grateful to the parent volunteers who step up and help teach these boys and girls basketball fundamentals, sportsmanship, and values. The program ensures fun, fundamentals, and enjoyment of the game.
