FLAG FOOTBALL PROGRAM - Register by September 5

Flag football is a fun, participation-based football program for boys and girls in 1st through 6th grade.Games are played Saturdays and practices are held one weeknight per week. All participants receive t-shirts.The first team practice will take place the week of September 10. Cost is $25 for Members and $45 for Non-Members. Registration is required by September 5.  $5 additional fee after deadline.

 

7th & 8th GRADE FLAG FOOTBALL PROGRAM

Flag Football for Boys and Girls entering 7th & 8th Grades during the 2018-2019 School Year. Games will be on Saturday afternoons at the YMCA September 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Game times will vary between 3:30 and 5:30 pm. Teams will be picked by YMCA evenly each weekend, depending on how many players show up. All players will get an equal amount of playing time. Players will call their own plays. Focus is on fun, healthy competition and exercise. Sportsmanship and YMCA core values will be expected. Simple rules will be discussed the 1st weekend, but will mostly comply with YMCA 5th and 6th Grade Flag Football. There will be no blocking at this level. Cost is $15 Member, $30 Non-Member.

 

NEW YMCA PUNT, PASS & KICK COMPETITION

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 3 pm

Divisions ranging from first grade through eighth grade. Compete in accuracy and distance competitions! Trophies for the top three in each division. Cost:$5

 

PRESCHOOL TUMBLE TIME

Tumble Time offers pre-school children (age 3+) a safe environment to climb, roll, tumble, balance and explore. This fun interactive class introduces children to the world of gymnastics while working on coordination, balance, physical strength, teamwork and social skills.The class is taught by Rachel Berry, USAG certified gymnastics instructor with 8 years of coaching experience. The class is $5 for YMCA Members* and $20 per month for Non-Members.The class will be held at the YMCA from 12:30—1:15 pm on Thursdays beginning September 6.

Session 1:September 6—27

Session 2:October 4—25

*Sessions are limited to eight participants. *Child must be a member to receive the member rate.

Practices and games will be held at local school districts and coordinated with volunteer coaches.Registration is required by October 17. Practices could begin as early as October 22.  Games will be played on Saturdays beginning November 3 and ending December 15. All players receive t-shirts.Cost is $25/Members; $45 Non-members.

 

RIVERSHARKS COMPETITIVE SWIM PROGRAM

1st & 2nd GRADE BASKETBALL CLINIC REGISTRATION

This four week clinic will focus on basketball skills and fundamentals. The clinic is developmental, non-competitive, and provides equal participation. The clinic meets on Saturdays. The program is held at high school gyms in Clarion County.

PRE-K and KINDERGARTEN BASKETBALL CLINIC 

This clinic will be held in May at area high school gymnasiums. The clinic will focus on the development of the basic fundamental skills of basketball with fun activities. The goal of the program is to get all of the participants involved and excited about basketball in order to create a foundation in the sport.

SWIM LESSONS - JUNE, JULY & AUGUST

Swim lessons are available at the Clarion Borough Pool. Lessons are with a certified and qualified lifeguard. Your child will need a swim suit, a caring parent/guardian or adult nearby.

SOCCER CLINIC - JUNE

Soccer skills clinics teach fundamentals of soccer. This program is held on Saturdays at the Clarion County Park in June for ages 4-14. This program is a great refresher for our Summer Soccer Program.

SUMMER SOCCER PROGRAM - JULY

Summer Soccer is a 7-week program for kids in pre-k to 8th grade. This program is a developmental, participation based program with t-shirts for all players. The program is held at the Clarion County Park.

FLAG FOOTBALL—SEPTEMBER

Flag football is a fun, participation-based football program for kids in 1st through 6th grade. Games are played on six consecutive Saturdays and practices are held on weeknights. All participants receive t-shirts.

RIVERSHARKS COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM

The Riversharks competitive swim team begins in early October and the regular season runs through mid-February. Practices are held at Clarion University in the evenings 2-5 nights per week with meets on Saturdays. Meets are held at CUP and at other YMCA’s throughout the CENKEY League. The Riversharks competitive swim team is composed of two levels: developmental and competitive. Swimmers who need stroke development and technique work will begin in the developmental group until they learn and progress. Swimmers have a flexible practice and meet schedule. 3rd & 4th GRADE YOUTH BASKETBALL - JANUARY

Youth basketball for 3rd and 4th graders is a fundamental, participation-based program with games on Saturdays and one practice per week. Practices are held at or near local school districts and coordinated by volunteer coaches. Games will be played on Saturdays. Teams are built by the YMCA youth Coordinator. Gender-based teams are built for boys and girls. Youth basketball emphasizes equal participation, fundamentals, sportsmanship and teamwork.
