Swimmers who would like to continue to complete for the YMCA may join another team during the renovation.

Oil City YMCA Swim Team River Otters

This program begins September 25 for ages 5-18.  Practices are held at the Oil City YMCA Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 - 5:30 pm.  Competition is held in the NWPAYSL League (Oil City, Bradford, Corry, Titusville, North East, Jamestown, Meadville, Warren, County, Franklin)  The program fee is $135 + a YMCA Membership.

A new swimmer trial week will be held September 18-22 for $10 (applies to team fee).   

 

Brookville YMCA Barracudas

This program begins October 2 for ages 5-18.  Practices are held at Hickory Grove Elementary School in Brookville Monday through Thursday from 6 - 8 pm.  Brookville participates in the CENKEY Swim League (Brookville, DuBois, St. Mary's, State College, Lock Haven, Clearfield, Juniata Valley, Bellefonte, Jersey Shore).  The cost is $85 + a YMCA Membership.

A parent meeting will be held September 19 at 6:30 pm.  Please call the Brookville YMCA for exact location.

The mission of the Riversharks Swim Team is to promote the sport of swimming by helping team members learn the skills, techniques and attitudes required to be successful in swimming as well as in life. 

The Future of Swimming at the  Clarion County YMCA

The Clarion County YMCA will continue to promote competitive swimming.  Practice and competition will resume at Clarion University when renovations are complete. 

 

Success of the Clarion County YMCA Riversharks

The Clarion County YMCA Riversharks Swim Team was formed in 2013. With the Clarion County YMCA behind the program, the team grew to 87 swimmers in Season 4. In March of 2016, under the direction of Coach Derek Nelson, the Clarion County YMCA Riversharks saw unparalleled success by qualifying 19 swimmers at the Pennsylvania YMCA District level and qualifying five swimmers at the Pennsylvania YMCA State level.
