The Healthy Kids Running Series is a 5 week running program in the Spring for kids in pre-k through 8th grade. Races take place once a week and age appropriate running events are offered including the 50 yard dash, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the one mile run. Races are held on Sundays, April 2, 9, 23, 30 and May 7. Register at ww.healthykidsrunningseries.org. The cost is $35 for the series or $10 per race. All runners receive t-shirts and award medals. Tumble Time offers pre-school children a safe environment to climb, roll, tumble, balance and explore. This fun interactive class introduces children to the world of gymnastics while improving coordination, balance, physical strength, teamwork and social skills. The class is taught by Rachel Berry, USAG certified gymnastics instructor with seven years of coaching experience. The class is $5 for YMCA Members and $20 per month for Non-Members. The class will be held at the YMCA from 11—11:45 am on Fridays in March, April & May.
Private tumbling and gymnastics lessons are available through the YMCA and USAG certified coach, Rachel Berry. Please call the YMCA to schedule. Cost is $20 per 45 minute session for YMCA Members and $30 per session for Non-Members.
A developmental basketball program for boys and girls in grades 1 & 2. Basketball fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and teamwork are the focus of the program. The clinic is held on Saturdays and lasts six weeks from March 18—April 29. Clinics are held at local school districts. Games will be played at high school gyms. This three week clinic, held May 6-20, will focus on development of the basic fundamentals of basketball with fun activities. The goal of the program is to get all the participants excited about basketball in order to create a foundation for the sport. Registrations received after 19th will be charged an additional $5.
The 17th Annual Sportsmanship I District 9 Senior Boys and Girls All-Star game will be held Saturday, April 1st at Keystone High School. The girls’ game starts at 2:00 pm followed by the boys game at 4:00 pm. Games serve as a tribute to outgoing senior basketball players and keeping sportsmanship a NUMBER ONE focus in our society. Korean Martial Arts will develop both your mind and body and it will teach you to have a feeling of security through physical fitness, poise, grace, and unarmed self-defense. Most importantly, all participants will develop peace of mind, a sense of self-discipline, and self confidence. Tang Soo Do is available for ages 7 through adult, who may attend together. Classes are held at Joe’s Gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00—8:00 pm. Monthly Program Fee: $40 for YMCA Members/$60 for Non-members.
Youth basketball for 3rd and 4th graders is a fundamental, participation-based program with games on Saturdays and one practice per week. Practices are held at or near local school districts and coordinated by volunteer coaches. Games will be played on Saturdays. Teams are built by the YMCA youth Coordinator. Gender-based teams are built for boys and girls. Youth basketball emphasizes equal participation, fundamentals, sportsmanship and teamwork.
This four week clinic will focus on basketball skills and fundamentals. The clinic is developmental, non-competitive, and provides equal participation. The clinic meets on Saturdays. The program is held at high school gyms in Clarion County.

Races take place once a week and offer age appropriate running events including the 50 yard dash, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the one mile run. Kids compete for a chance to earn points and at the end of the Series the top boy and girl with the most points in their respective age division receive a trophy. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you run because all participants receive a medal and gift bag for their achievements courtesy of our sponsors!
Swim lessons are available at the Clarion Borough Pool. Lessons are with a certified and qualified lifeguard. Your child will need a swim suit, a caring parent/guardian or adult nearby.
Soccer skills clinics teach fundamentals of soccer. This program is held on Saturdays at the Clarion County Park in June for ages 4-14. This program is a great refresher for our Summer Soccer Program.
To participate, swimmers must have completed one season of competitive swimming or pass a swim test. Swimmers will refine strokes, turns and dives and work on endurance.
Summer Soccer is a 7-week program for kids in pre-k to 8th grade. This program is a developmental, participation based program with t-shirts for all players. The program is held at the Clarion County Park.
Flag football is a fun, participation-based football program for kids in 1st through 6th grade. Games are played on six consecutive Saturdays and practices are held on weeknights. All participants receive t-shirts.
The Riversharks competitive swim team begins in early October and the regular season runs through mid-February. Practices are held at Clarion University in the evenings 2-5 nights per week with meets on Saturdays. Meets are held at CUP and at other YMCA’s throughout the CENKEY League. The Riversharks competitive swim team is composed of two levels: developmental and competitive. Swimmers who need stroke development and technique work will begin in the developmental group until they learn and progress. Swimmers have a flexible practice and meet schedule.
