The Healthy Kids Running Series is a five week cross country running program in the fall for kids from Pre-K to 8th grade. Races take place once a week and offer age appropriate running events including the 50 yard dash, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the one mile run. Kids compete for a chance to earn points and at the end of the Series the top boy and girl with the most points in their respective age division receive a trophy. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you run because all participants receive a medal and gift bag for their achievements courtesy of our sponsors! REGISTER NOW ONLINE
Tumble Time offers pre-school children a safe environment to climb, roll, tumble, balance and explore. This fun interactive class introduces children to the world of gymnastics while working on coordination, balance, physical strength, teamwork and social skills. The class is taught by Rachel Berry, USAG certified gymnastics instructor with 7 years of coaching experience the class is $5 for YMCA Family Members and $20 per month for Non-Members. The class will be held at the YMCA or Joe’s Gym (depending on numbers) from 11—11:45 am on Thursdays beginning October 6.
Private tumbling and gymnastics lessons are available through the YMCA and USAG certified coach, Rachel Berry. Please call the YMCA to schedule. Cost is $20 per 45 minute session for YMCA Members and $30 per session for Non-Members.
Flag football is a fun, participation-based football program for kids in 1st through 6th grade. Games are played on six consecutive Saturdays and practices are held on weeknights. All participants receive t-shirts. Registration is extended through September 17 at 12 pm. Cost is $25 for Members and $45 for Non-Members.
A Flag Football skills clinic with Jesse Kelley will be held at the YMCA on Saturday, September 17 at the YMCA. This clinic is open to anyone who is registered for Flag Football and those who want to try it before they sign up.

YMCA basketball is a fundamental, participation based program for boys and girls in 5th and 6th grade. Practices will be held at local school districts and coordinated with volunteer coaches. Games will be played on Saturdays beginning November 12 and ending December 17. Registration is required by October 26. All players receive t-shirts. Cost is $20/Members; $40 Non-members. A $5 late fee applies for all registrations turned in after the deadline.
Intro to fitness is a 10-week program focused on getting teen-aged youth active and educated in physical fitness during the fall months. Participants will be coached through workouts containing flexibility, strength, cardio, speed-agility-quickness and balance. Proper execution of all exercises will be taught by Duane Schmader, certified personal trainer and performance enhancement specialist through NASM. Program meets Mondays & Wednesdays 3:30—4:30 pm beginning September 12 and ending November 16. Cost for members is $60 and Non-members is $120.
Learn the basics of Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting through one-on-one instruction at the YMCA by requesting a private session with Jesse Kelley or Kurtis Bell. Technique and skill development will be taught in a positive, encouraging training environment. This program is FREE for YMCA Members and $10 per session for Non-members.
Tang Soo Do is for participants ages 7 through adult. This traditional martial art form has roots in ancient Korea and promotes self improvement, self discipline and self defense. Mr. Jeff Craig is the certified instructor. Monthly Fee: $40 Members, $60 Non-members. Class meets 7-8 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Joe's Gym. This is a great family opportunity for parents and children to attend together. There is a special family rate where three or more family members pay the price of two.
The Clarion County YMCA Riversharks swim team begins in October. New swimmers must try out. Practices are held Monday through Thursday at Clarion University Tippin Natatorium. The team is composed of 70 swimmers at various levels. Most children begin in a developmental group become more proficient in the strokes. Children move up through 5 levels as they learn. All children on the team are eligible to compete. Meets are held at our home pool and at away locations in the CENKEY league. Summer Soccer is a 7-week program that begins on July 9th for kids in pre-k to 8th grade. This program is a developmental, participation based program with t-shirts for all players. The program is held at the Clarion County Park. The cost is $20 for YMCA Members and $45 for Non-members.
Soccer skills clinics teach fundamentals of soccer. This program is held on Saturdays at the Clarion County Park from June 4th through June 18th for ages 4-14. This is a competitive swim team that practices in Brookville and Clarion. The team attends USA Swim Meets in the Pittsburgh area. This is a long-course 50-meter program with many of the meets at outdoor facilities. CLICK HERE to learn more.
Held June 1st through July 28th. Practices will be held at CUP on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30—7:00 pm. To participate, swimmers must have completed one season of competitive swimming or pass a swim test. Swimmers will refine strokes, turns and dives and work on endurance. The cost of this program is $80 for YMCA Members and $110 for Non-Members. Opportunities will be available to all swimmers to swim in three short course competitive meets at the Oil City YMCA. Swim lessons are available at the Clarion Borough Pool. Lessons are with a certified and qualified lifeguard. Your child will need a swim suit, a caring parent/guardian or adult nearby.
Youth basketball for 3rd and 4th graders is a fundamental, participation-based program with games on Saturdays and one practice per week. Practices are held at or near local school districts and coordinated by volunteer coaches. Games will be played on Saturdays, February 6 - March 5. Schedules are to be announced the week of February 1st. Teams are built by the YMCA youth Coordinator. Gender-based teams are built for boys and girls. Youth basketball emphasizes equal participation, fundamentals, sportsmanship and teamwork. Registrations are due January 25th. Cost: $20 for Members, $40 for Non-Members.
This four week clinic will focus on basketball skills and fundamentals. The clinic is developmental, non-competitive, and provides equal participation. The clinic meets on Saturdays from April 2nd to April 23rd. The program is held at high school gyms in Clarion County. Registration is due by March 21st. Cost: $15 for Members; $40 for Non-members.
This clinic will be held on May 7th, May 14th, and 21st at area high school gymnasiums. The clinic will focus on the development of the basic fundamental skills of basketball with fun activities. The goal of the program is to get all of the participants involved and excited about basketball in order to create a foundation in the sport. Registration will be held April 5th - April 25th.
